Flights - History Be Kind (2x12" LP)
The debut album from Bristol-based Flights. It's difficult to pin down Flights to any genre. There are too many influences of heavy angular music (The Ghost of Things) to call them indie, but far too melodic, relaxed and considered (Archives, Yellow Bentines), to be metal or even heavy rock. They certainly aren't a pop band but so many of their songs contain pop sensibilities (Empire Gone). Influences can be felt as widely as Radiohead and Foals (Disappointed But Not Surprised) through to Minus The Bear and Explosions In The Sky. It all comes together to form a fine intellectual, alternative rock album that is streets ahead of many bands currently on the UK rock scene.
The album is limited to just 100 copies on a double 12" vinyl in a gatefold sleeve. Each copy is hand-numbered.
